Snowmobile - Pineapple Express / Rabbit Ears Pass to Buffalo Pass

Finally there is some powder in Colorado!!!  The Pineapple Express that pounded California with rain blew into Colorado this weekend with Steamboat ski area reporting 18" of champagne powder.

On Monday morning, Brian and I were the first trucks and sleds at Rabbit Ears where we met another solo rider Tim.  The three of us slowly worked our way north to Buffalo Pass.  On average I estimate the Rabbit Ears around 2 feet and the Buffalo Pass snow stick showed 4.5 feet.  There were still lots of rocks and open holes to watch for but in some places there was also 2 to 3 feet of powder and our sleds were pushing through it like snowplows.
