The day started clear but the wind that blew me across Kansas kicked up and blew me across Missouri. I made a quick stop in Hannibal, Missouri which was home to Mark Twain and The Unsinkable Molly Brown. I enjoyed reading Huckleberry Finn and know the story of The Unsinkable Molly Brown from the Titanic since she spent time in Colorado so it was fun to see Hannibal and the Mississippi River.
About half way through Illinois the weather finally caught up with me. The rain was so heavy that even cars were pulling off because it was almost impossible to see. I spent the next hour hopping bridge to bridge for cover and eventually made it to an exit with a gas station where I waited out the storm.
From Illinois I eventually made it to Indianapolis for the night where I slept hard and hoped for dryer weather.
